Kenilworth and St Mary's Hill Horse Fair 2006
Kenilworth in July was very well supported, with plenty of dealers and traders having a profitable day. Some of the horse boxes had experienced difficulty getting there, past a road accident, but were well pleased with trade when they arrived. Tack dealers were there in full force which made competition fierce and bargains plentiful.
St.Mary's Hill did not have a huge amount of cobs, but what was there sold quickly. Ponies were well represented as usual in the Welsh fairs and a pen full of new Forest caught the eye. Good humour was abundant and a more 'laid back' fair you will not visit. The market attracted huge numbers though a few traders complained that spending was down. The weather at both fairs held fine after threats of rain and Denise Anne has again managed to capture the spirit of two enjoyable days.
